## What it is

The companions are remembered for what they repeated, not for what they said once. Abu
Bakr weighed his day before sleeping. Bilal renewed his ablution the moment it broke and
prayed two units after it, every time. Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf asked for nothing but
directions to the market. Pick one companion in the morning and build the day around
them.

## Features

### Twenty companions, one virtue each
Each companion stands for a single virtue and carries a biography written for this app.
The habits come out of that story, so you find out why you are doing a thing before you
do it.

### One hundred and forty habits, in two kinds
Daily routines are the concrete things a companion did every day, from performing wudu
on waking to sitting for a moment after prayer. Character habits come from a single
moment in their story: admit a mistake without adding "but", say the true thing that
costs you something, keep one small promise exactly on time. Every habit carries its
reference.

### Prayers and dhikr, free forever
Five prayers, each recorded in one tap: prayed, prayed in congregation, or missed. A
tasbih counter whose button is the whole lower half of the screen, so you can count
without looking, with a longer buzz at the target. Eight dhikr are included with their
references, among them the tasbih of Fatima, and you can add your own with any count.
Make-up prayers count down from a figure you enter yourself.

### Progress
Tick a habit and the ring moves. Keep a streak, and see your last thirty days at a
glance with prayers and make-up prayers counted separately. No feed, no notifications
you did not ask for, no one to compare yourself against.

## Three things it refuses to do

1. **It will not tell you when to pray.** The calculation methods disagree with one
another by up to twenty minutes and the schools differ on asr, so the app asks what
you did rather than announcing when to do it.
2. **It will not guess what you owe.** Make-up prayers count down from a figure you
enter yourself. The app never estimates the number for you.
3. **It has nowhere to send your practice.** No account and no sign-up. Everything lives
on the phone, and nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go.
